Kelly & Landon: The Wedding

There's something about meeting a bride and groom for the first time that makes my toes tingle. Usually this happens months before the wedding takes place. However, being in the destination wedding market, I have my handful of brides that apart from our internet relationship via emails, facebook, and my blog, we dont get a chance to meet until the wedding day. There's always that initial nervousness that happens...and if I'm being honest, it's a whole lot like a first date. Okay, maybe not your first date, but mine felt like that. The moment of truth as you walk through the door, all antsy, wondering if they're going to like you in person, wondering if you picked the right clothes or what you should say first. Yup, Kelly, I'm sorry if I appeared like a nervous teen walking into her first date.

Kelly and Landon, or Mr & Mrs Clause as I now love to call them, tied the knot at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Destin FL on the warm breezy beaches of our gorgeous Emerald Coast. Walking up into Kelly's hotel room, seeing her smiling, relaxed, listening to a crazy selection of music on her iPod, and seeing the stunning dress hanging in the closet....my nervousness soared out the window. There's something about Kelly that just makes you feel calm, happy, and like nothing in the world can go wrong. And Landon...well, he's pretty cool too. His smile was so infectious. I had a hard time seeing through my lens because, when I smile really hard, my eyes disappear, and with Landon around, you couldnt help but burst into an ear to ear grin.

One thing from Kelly and Landon's wedding that I was mesmerized by was their love of children. During the reception, Kelly came over with a piece of cake and asked how I was doing. I told her I hope she didnt mind, but that I was getting tons of amazing shots of the kids at her wedding. In all honesty, I was afraid she'd be like "okay, why are so many of my reception photos of this little blonde girl twirling around on the dancefloor?" But Kelly grabbed my arm and laughed. "No, no, PLEASE, get as many as you can, we love these kids!"

So, without further ado, I give to you Mr. and Mrs. Clause. I will be sending them cookies this year for Christmas. Just because! We love you guys and wish you all the best!

  1. WOW!! Thank you for those kind words. And the pictures are absolutely perfect. They brought tears to my mom's eyes. I can't wait to see the rest of them.
