Amber and Steven: The Sneak

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna regret saying this but, I'm super super excited. You know how you see those teenagers running around screaming "I love Edward!!" or "Team Jacob!" and all that craziness? Well, tonight, aside from all the screaming, I'll be joining the excitement. Now, I definitely wont be swooning...and I can 100% say that I will not scream when anyone's face comes up on the screen, but I am excited. There, I said it. Tonight, Megan and I are headed to the movies. But not just the movies. We are watching, wait for it...Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse! Yes indeedy Bob, we are insane. Our sad little butts will be sitting in a movie theater chair from 6pm till 3am eating popcorn, red vines, pretzel M&Ms, sour patch kids, and diet coke. EXCITED! And to top it off, Andrew's jumping on board! Sweetness! He'll be there to sit in the line for me hours before with Megan's husband to make sure that we get a good seat. I love him!

Now, I'm trying my hardest and oddly enough, I'm buzzing right now. I'm trying to focus on all the things between me at 6pm. Let me tell you, I need this kind of incentive everyday because I am flying through my to do list. And are you ready for this multitasking power, I even painted my fingernails while editing. Whoot!

So, as I continue to run through my list and thousands of cups of coffee, I wanted to give you a sneak peak at some of the awesomeness that is my summer brides. This is Amber and I cannot wait to post her wedding. We beat the elements, had an amazing first look that made me cry, amazing food, great company, a sweet sweet blending of families and first dances that again, made me cry. Enjoy the teaser and if tomorrow, you happen to see me back at the theater to see Eclipse again, I will completely deny it. Just sayin.

Two Years...

Two years ago today I saw you for the first time as my husband. I walked down the aisle at this very moment and saw you standing there waiting for me. We were all alone, just the two of us {and the photographers} in the sanctuary. With every step closer to you, I felt my heart pound just a little harder. I tapped your shoulder and you turned to see me as your bride. Two years ago I became yours and you became mine.

I dont have words as I usually would, no elaborate stories or flowery paragraphs. I'm sure that comes as a shock...that I dont have any words. That probably makes you chuckle just a little, but I just love you. I love you. Happy Anniversary my love.

Silly Little Bag

"Because it makes you happy..." that was it; your only reason. You do things like that a lot. Silly little things I want to do or spend money on. I often wonder why you always jump on board, never hesitating. I think I take it for granted sometimes, the way you see me smiling, laughing...and doing whatever you can to keep that a constant.

I know its potentially hazardous to our checkbook, but I love it. I love that you jump at the idea of shopping at Fresh Market. And this bag...this silly little expensive bag, I love that I picked it up, giddy and smiling and you just bought it for me, just like that. No questions asked, no budget in mind, no "do you really need to have a cloth shopping bag?" just picked it up and paid for it.

"Because it makes you happy..." that was it; your only reason.

Carey and Jeff: The Wedding

Humidity and rain hung in the air. Everything seemed to move so much slower than usual, even the trees seemed to be swaying in the wind as if they were following a conductor instructing the moonlight sonata. But from the moment I opened the door to the bridal room, the rain, the wind, the humidity, suddenly it all seemed to fade away like a far off memory.

Have you ever met one of those personalities that screamed joyful? Sadly, I'm not usually one of them...in fact, numerous of my friends have told me that when they first met me, they thought I was a snob. Awesome right? That's just the first impression I want to leave, sheesh people! But for Carey, her joyful sunny nature just seems to come naturally. She's always smiling, always laughing, always dancing and full of emotion. She simply radiates light!

Being a wedding photographer brings some intense emotions. It's not something that I noticed heavily advertised on photography blogs, but as I go through a wedding, trailing the bride throughout her special day, watching her experience everything for the very first time...I get swept away. I experience the emotions right along with her. As her father comes into the bridal room to see her as his just one last time...as she twirls for him and asks if she looks pretty, my eyes well up as theirs do. As she takes a deep breath moments before she sees her groom for the very first time, my heart flutters right along with hers.

So, Carey and Jeff, as you're beginning your new life together, thank you. Thank you for all the emotions, the memories, the love, the crazy dance offs, the amazing wedding cake, and for reminding me of all the reasons why I do what I do. Thank you. We wish you two all the best...and your kids are going to have some killer dance moves!

"Jeff's here" one of her bridesmaids exclaimed. Carey couldnt hold her excitement, she just had to peek at her future groom walking into the church. So sweet!!!

So, when Carey turned around to begin her first dance with her husband, he surprised her with a song complete with choreography. Her reaction, priceless!!
